Controller
I'm partnered with the CFO at a multi-million dollar subsidiary of a F200 conglomerate located near Chicago Heights, IL. The holding company has over 100 businesses and 12 different groups, with this division in particular being in huge growth mode. They are now seeking a Controller to join the growing team due to an internal promotion. Reporting into the President with support from the parent company, you will have ownership of the accounting and finance function for the Illinois location. This is a 50 / 50 blended role of Accounting & Finance, managing the month-end close and forecasting / budgeting process, while leading a team of 2 Staff Accountants. As the Controller, you will also drive key process improvements to create efficiencies within the organization involving month-end, forecasting / budgeting, system implementations, and more.
Job Description
Controller Responsibilities :
- Manage 2 Staff Accountants
- Handle the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
- Manage and maintain detailed cost accounting systems, including performing cost variance analyses.
- Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Handle cost accounting responsibilities, including inventory account reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and the company's internal accounting standards.
- Support both internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and assistance.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to protect organizational assets.
- Evaluate production and operational metrics to provide insights for management decision-making.
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify business drivers and enhance financial outcomes.
