Job Title : Travel Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) Location : Jackson Purchase Medical Center, Mayfield, KY Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM Assignment Type : Travel Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Position Overview : Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) for a travel assignment. The CSFA will work alongside surgeons and the operating room team to provide direct assistance during surgical procedures. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong knowledge of surgical techniques, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide intraoperative technical assistance to surgeons, including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, and suturing
  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping prior to surgery
  • Maintain sterile technique and enforce infection control standards
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures
  • Participate in postoperative patient care and documentation as required
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and compliance with hospital policies

    • Qualifications :

  • Certification as a Surgical First Assist (CSFA) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of surgical assisting experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical assisting program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively in a travel role
