The Policy Analyst supports the City's legislative and intergovernmental affairs program. The position researches, monitors, and analyzes proposed legislation and regulatory changes that may impact municipal operations. Responsibilities include preparing policy briefs and position papers, tracking bills, and attending committee hearings during the legislative session, as well as monitoring interim committee hearings and the state agency rulemaking process. The position also assists with special projects and policy initiatives as directed.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class "C" Texas driver's license required. Out-of-state license holders must have a valid license and provide a three (3) year driving history.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Hiring Range : $72,040.28 - $90,251.20, annually.
