Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing billing operations, ensuring accuracy in claims processing, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities :

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Verify patient information and eligibility prior to claim submission.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper coding.
• Utilize systems such as MEDENT and Epic EMR to manage billing operations efficiently.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing policies and insurance requirements.
• Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing and collections.
• Provide support during system updates or transitions to ensure continuity in billing processes. Requirements - Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and collections.
• Proficiency with MEDENT and Epic EMR systems.
• Strong understanding of medical claims processes and insurance guidelines.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers.
• Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.
• Familiarity with financial reporting related to medical billing operations.
