Operations Manager
We have an outstanding career opportunity for an Operations Manager to join a leading company located in the Reading, PA surrounding area. We are seeking a motivated individual to lead and support our polymer operations team. The ideal candidate uses their strong leadership and communication skills to foster a continuous improvement culture, monitors and achieves production KPIs, and maintains a safe working environment.
Job Responsibilities :
- Drive behavior-based safety culture and promote a healthy, clean, and good working environment.
- Promote alignment to the culture and strategy.
- Plan, manage, and set direction and establish priorities to effectively manage day-to-day polymer manufacturing operations using established systems and procedures.
- Identify and implement effective operations strategies, tools, and best practices.
- Implement actions to improve productivity and compliance to departmental goals.
- Develop an annual budget and manage costs to meet operating budget objectives and lower conversion costs.
- Use technical capability to drive a driven approach to chemical processing issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in all areas of operations, including safety, operations, quality, and cost.
- Provide leadership and professionally manage the operations area to direct reports.
- Perform evaluations with feedback and manage training and skills progression programs.
Basic Hiring Criteria :
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Five (5) years of progressive professional experience as a Chemical Engineer and / or Process Engineer.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Previous experience as an Operations Manager.Good written and verbal communication skills.Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.Desire to work in a hands-on environment.Five (5) years of progressive professional experience in polymer chemical manufacturing preferred.Experience working in a polymer chemical manufacturing environment.SAP experience, creating SOP's.Military connected talent encouraged to apply.VEVRAA Federal Contractor / Request Priority Protected Veteran Referrals / Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
