Summary : Seeking Experienced Track Foreman, Maintenance of Way team
The person in this position oversees crews in the performance of track maintenance and is responsible for the oversight of both the maintenance and repair activities surrounding the MoW job or project functions. Responsibilities include training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. Prior EIC qualified, trained on FRA 213 Track safety, and machine operator qualifications / experience is highly desired!
Responsibilities :
Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of the MoW crewInterface with others to ensure efficient and organized operations of the railroad along with the maintenance of the trackEnforce compliance with safety procedures; use PPE to keep required recordsMonitor and closely control all maintenance and other related costs associated with MoW workAssist to ensure department meets its track, signal, and capital-projects service goalsManage other projects and perform other duties as assignedWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements :
Full-time (40 plus hours weekly)Varying schedule in a 24 / 7 work environment that includes nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call as neededOutdoor work in all weather conditionsWalking on uneven surfaces and climbing ladders and equipment always ensuring three points of contactAble to squat, bend and lift overhead with extended periods of kneeling or crouching (bending at the knees)Frequent lifting of equipment and toolsSkills and Experience :
Knowledge of FRA Track Safety StandardsKnowledge of Roadway Worker Protection rules or prior EIC qualifiedFamiliarity and knowledge of codes and standards applicable to specific construction and maintenance activity per GCOR and FRA 213Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperaturesWillingness to work flexible schedules and work assignmentsAble to complete written forms and reports as requiredWorking knowledge of equipment such as torches, hammers, jacks, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic toolsAble to read and interpret documents including safety rules, manuals, and regulationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPossess situational awareness and decision-making abilities to respond effectively in a safety sensitive environmentRequired Education and Credentials :
Three years of railroad track / MoW work experiencePrior leadership or foreman responsibility / experienceHigh school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and / or work experienceValid driver's license; CDL a plusAt least eighteen years of ageEmployment Requirements :
Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical reviewSubject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screeningBackground screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving historyRelocation : Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
