Service Manager – Lead the Ride Toward Health, Happiness, and Community Impact

Northtowne Cycling, Cedar Rapids’ century-strong cycling hub, is seeking a dynamic Service Manager to lead our passionate team into the next era of community wellness, operational excellence, and cycling innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and Inspire : Coach and develop a team of service technicians and support crew, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and joy.
  • Streamline and Scale : Refine service operations for speed, clarity, and profitability—while keeping our values front and center.
  • Elevate the Experience : Ensure every customer leaves feeling heard, helped, and ready to ride.
  • Drive Innovation : Collaborate with community and Northtowne teams to evolve with the needs of our community.
  • Build Legacy : Champion Northtowne’s Vision of being the best and most trusted bike shop.

What You Bring

  • A passion for cycling, fitness, and helping people live happier and healthier lives through cycling and fitness.
  • Leadership experience in service, retail, or operations (bike industry a plus, but not required)
  • Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
  • A growth mindset and a love for continuous improvement
  • Comfort with tech tools, data, and process optimization

    Duties

  • Lead and support the continued development of a highly effective and rewarded Service Team through training, experience and performance.
  • Player / coach : The Service Manager is involved daily in bicycle service and assembly in addition to team coaching, management and development.
  • Drive great customer care, quality, and productivity through service systems.
  • Provide relationship-building customer service and education to all levels of riders.
  • Be part of, and contribute to, the performance of an experienced leadership team and demonstrate commitment to our Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge, enthusiasm and energy for our industry, team and clients.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting the sale and service of 1000's of bicycles annually.
