Contract Accountant

Accountant (Contract Only)
Location: Catoosa, OK | Pay: $75k+ Annually | Schedule: Day Shift | Type: Direct Hire

Key Responsibilities:
The Accountant will manage all accounting transactions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Responsibilities include reconciling sub-ledgers to general ledger balances, performing monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis, and preparing timely financial statements with budget variance assessments. The role requires overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring compliance with deadlines, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable to guarantee timely bank payments. Additional duties include computing taxes, preparing tax returns, managing profit/loss statements, and monitoring the company’s overall financial health and liquidity. The Accountant will also conduct risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, audit financial transactions, and ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Confidentiality of financial data and proper documentation will be maintained at all times, with backups performed as needed.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation. They must be capable of effectively performing risk assessments, evaluating internal controls, and meeting tight deadlines for closings and reporting. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills are essential, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, colleagues, and management. Attention to detail, a high degree of confidentiality, and accuracy in financial data management are critical. The candidate must demonstrate punctuality, the ability to work on-site, and flexibility to handle overtime as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
