Description :

Prescreening is required prior to interview and review.

Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting an offer.

A score of 80% is necessary to pass, with a maximum of two attempts.

Failure to pass results in denial for consideration for six months.

Travelers will take a pass / fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation.

Study guides will be provided.

Experience with C-sections is mandatory.

Computer charting experience is required, with a preference for Cerner.

The unit has 18 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds.

On average, 8 to 10 deliveries occur daily, with a monthly average of 322 to 344 deliveries.

The unit is equipped with two operating rooms for C-sections.

Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NRP.

The unit aims to follow staffing guidelines and maintain safe assignments.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2 : 1, depending on acuity.

Antepartum assignments can be 4 : 1, and C-sections are staffed 1 : 1.

Electronic medical records are managed through Cerner.

The fetal monitoring system in use is Fetal Link.

There is a team of 13 charge nurses on the unit.

No nurse aides are available.

Weekend work consists of 4 shifts per schedule.

Call or standby is voluntary.

Holiday coverage is appreciated, though not mandatory.

Scrubs are typically blue.

No telemetry or vent support is provided.

An OB hospitalist is available in-house 24 / 7.

Respiratory therapy is available around the clock, equipped with necessary devices.

Pharmacy services operate 24 / 7.

Shifts are overnight, from 1900 to 0700.

Travelers may float to different areas when necessary.

Orientation is one week, focused on floor-specific protocols.

Titrating drips, including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, is required per protocol.

Common patient conditions include laboring or preterm pregnant patients.

The facility is a Level II Emergency Care location and a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Travelers must confidently circulate and recover C-sections.

Patients are transferred after delivery.

The facility can cancel up to four shifts during the assignment.

Charting is completed through an electronic system.
