Your seat at the table : Set Up Operator

In this seat you’ll set up and maintain a variety of machines and processes used in manufacturing cookware products.

This seat reports to : Production Supervisor

More specifics about what this seat does :

• Setup and operates various style presses, sanders, buffers, welders and beaders.
• Installs and removes madrels, endplates, rollers, trimming fixtures, rolling fixtures, leading fixtures, trimming knives, compound rollers, dies, die sets, chucks, horns, electrodes, safety devices, buffs, felt, sanding media, jogs, cutters, heating elements, cutting buffs, and tape dies.
• Adjust traverse, angle and feel stop, sanding roller, lubricant spray, contact pressure, time cycles and buffing compound.
• Readies welders for operating by adjusting stroke, water flow, current and pressure.
• Starts water treatment and washing equipment by turning on necessary switches and valves and adding supplies, makes necessary tests and adjustments during operation and assists 125 job class with waterwash cleanup.
• Adjusts buffing heads for buffing taper when necessary.
• Connects and adjusts air lines
• Uses gauges and standard parts to check accuracy of setups
• Uses a variety of bolts, clamps and hand tools to hold tooling components in place and adjust setups.
• Moves material, tooling and fixtures to and from work area, cleans tooling before storing.
• Polishes and disc sands as needed, minor imperfections from tooling or dishes
• Drains and cleans water washers
• Performs minor lubrication
• Operates equipment in absence of setup activity
• Maintains and when needed clean, coolant system
• Maintains water wash and titration levels
• Must be able to perform functions of labor grades 7, 9 and 11
