An opportunity is available for a Nuclear Medicine technologist specializing in imaging to provide expert diagnostic and therapeutic services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This contract position requires proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures, radiation safety, and equipment operation to support accurate patient diagnosis and care.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment and selecting appropriate immobilization devices.
- Evaluating radiographic images via PACS to ensure identification accuracy and diagnostic quality.
- Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols.
- Performing radionuclide procedures such as organ imaging and function studies, assisting physicians with therapeutic radioisotope use.
- Calibrating equipment and assaying radionuclides in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Inspecting and handling radiopharmaceutical packages adhering to state and NRC guidelines.
- Maintaining detailed records of radioisotope receipt, usage, storage, and disposal as mandated by federal and state regulations.
- Ensuring cleanliness and contamination-free conditions in work areas.
- Utilizing clinical software systems including EPIC, Teletracking, and Nuclear Medicine Information System for patient scheduling and study processing.
- Participating in varied assignments including Cardiology and PET/CT imaging.
- Fulfilling scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, potential overtime, and on-call duties.
- Providing compassionate patient interaction using A.I.D.E.T. communication standards and adapting care to meet diverse needs.
Desired qualifications include:
- Credentialed Nuclear Medicine technologist certification.
- Experience with PACS, EPIC, and related imaging software.
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical preparation and safe handling.
- Familiarity with NRC, JCAHO, and state compliance requirements.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call shifts.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
