Service Manager | HVAC - Commercial Construction Projects
CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY
The Service Manager oversees all aspects of service-related projects, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role serves as the main point of contact between clients, service technicians, subcontractors, and internal teams, managing each project from initial planning through successful completion.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service throughout every phase of the project.
Collaborate with field and office teams to define project scope, prepare estimates, and establish budgets and schedules.
Oversee and coordinate service projects involving HVAC, piping, and plumbing—covering repairs, replacements, retrofits, and smaller construction efforts.
Manage procurement activities to secure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services in a timely manner.
Partner with Dispatch, Service Technicians, and field staff to ensure work is executed efficiently, safely, and within budget parameters.
Track project progress closely, identifying and resolving potential issues, schedule conflicts, and change orders before they impact delivery.
Review and approve work orders, cost reports, and project billing to maintain financial accuracy and accountability.
Work with the accounting team to ensure timely invoicing and proper job cost tracking.
Uphold company standards and safety protocols while ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
Maintain strong customer relationships through consistent follow-up, quality workmanship, and reliable project delivery.
Identify client needs and recommend cost-effective solutions that enhance facility performance and reduce long-term operating costs.
Convert technical insights into proposals and service offerings that align with customer goals and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems—including HVAC, plumbing, and piping—and their related construction methods and practices.
Demonstrated experience managing projects, ideally within a service-driven or fast-paced, reactive environment.
Skilled in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical plans.
Highly organized and self-directed, with strong time management and prioritization abilities.
Exceptional communicator with polished presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
