This major medical center operates a specialized 16-bed cardiac intensive care unit that serves as a Level 1 trauma center. The facility provides advanced cardiac care for critically ill patients requiring complex interventions including PA catheters, temporary pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy. The unit specializes in treating patients with myocardial infarctions, shock, cardiac arrest, and various cardiac procedures, maintaining high standards for acute cardiac care.
