We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Keene, New Hampshire. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Controller to manage financial operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and support cost management initiatives. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to financial planning and reporting processes within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Support the Controller in preparing monthly forecasts, financial models, and comprehensive financial analyses.
  • Lead the annual process of setting standard costs, ensuring accurate product costing and proper allocation of costs.
  • Establish costs for new parts as required and maintain accurate cost data.
  • Oversee the timely closure of job work orders, analyze variances, and present findings to plant management.
  • Monitor and update inventory costing data to ensure it reflects current and accurate information.
  • Work with department managers to monitor expenses, control costs, and investigate spending variances.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate policies, and established accounting principles.
  • Manage the general ledger, focusing on accuracy during the closing process and preparing financial reports.
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proven experience with month-end close processes and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with conducting financial statement audits and compliance with DCAA requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in monitoring inventory costing and managing cost allocation processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing complex financial tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial findings.
