POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager will oversee strategic planning, road mapping, estimation, prioritization, demand management, and overall portfolio and project management for the BI Modernization Program. This role is central to delivering a next-generation data and analytics landscape leveraging Snowflake and integrated tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Metaplane, Astronomer, Sigma, and Qlik. Responsibilities include ensuring strategic alignment with enterprise data transformation goals, managing resources and priorities effectively, and facilitating program governance for all initiatives under the modernization effort. The Program Manager will play a key role in enabling a digital transformation of enterprise data and analytics, bringing structure, scalability, and adoption to a modernized data stack. This role reports to the Director of Business Intelligence with a dotted line to the Director of PMO. The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end projects within the BI Modernization Program, from strategy through execution.
  • Drive adoption and delivery of the modern data stack, enabling advanced analytics, governance, and scalable intelligence solutions.
  • Cultivate trusted partnerships with IT, Business, and external technology providers to ensure alignment and buy-in.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program and project risks, with emphasis on data and technology dependencies.
  • Apply data-driven insights and key performance metrics to optimize delivery, adoption, and business impact of BI initiatives.

Program Management

  • Plan and lead annual and quarterly planning cycles for BI Modernization, ensuring alignment of data / analytics demand with capacity.
  • Define, measure, and report BI Modernization KPIs, including adoption, data quality, governance, and business impact.
  • Oversee effective resource allocation across data engineering, analytics, governance, and enablement tracks.
  • Maintain master program data set (resources, scope, timelines, dependencies, cost) consistent with PMO standards and governance needs.
  • Translate complex portfolio and program level data into executive-level dashboards and insights for decision-making using the PMO standards.
  • Senior Project Management

  • Develop and manage detailed roadmaps, charters, and project plans for BI Modernization initiatives.
  • Support business case development for enterprise data and analytics initiatives, including technology deployment, enablement, and ROI.
  • Coordinate delivery across Snowflake data warehousing, ELT (dbt), pipeline automation (FiveTran, Astronomer), data quality observability (Metaplane), and analytics (Qlik, Sigma).
  • Develop and maintain strong governance practices across portfolio, applying PMO frameworks to data transformation initiatives.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement meetings, project status reporting, updates and steering committee meetings, and project escalations with discernment and clarity.
  • Ensure effective delivery of testing, training, enablement, and adoption activities across the modern BI stack.
  • Manage dependencies across business, technology, and vendor partners, ensuring seamless integration of the modern data landscape.
  • REQUIREMENTS

    MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data / Analytics, IT, or Engineering with 10+ years of progressive program or project management experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex enterprise technology or data modernization initiatives.
  • Experience managing large-scale deployments of modern data platforms, data pipelines, and analytics enablement tools (Snowflake, dbt, ETL / ELT tools, BI systems).
  • Demonstrated expertise in project and program management practices, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of data & analytics program life cycle : governance, data pipeline development, quality assurance, analytics delivery, and user adoption.
  • Exceptional strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of leading data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and complexity while ensuring focus on measurable business value.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven success in engaging executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Professional maturity with ability to handle sensitive information and strategic initiatives.
  • NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with the modern data stack and related tools (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Metaplane, Astronomer, Sigma, Qlik).
  • Background in data governance, data quality, and data observability frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, SAFe, CSM, ITIL, or TOGAF.
  • Experience in product ownership and lifecycle management for analytics or BI platforms.
  • Exposure to organizational change management for technology transformation and enterprise adoption.
