Role Overview

We're seeking a Controller to own our accounting backbone. This person will run month-end closes, deliver accurate financial reporting, and create the structure and discipline our leadership team and board can rely on. While the immediate focus is operational excellence, we're looking for someone with the ambition and capacity to expand into broader financial leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting functions : GL, AP / AR, payroll, accruals, reconciliations
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process with timely and accurate reporting
  • Produce financial packages, dashboards, and EOS scorecards for leadership
  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and audit requirements (in partnership with CPA firm)
  • Oversee vendor payments, client billing, and cash flow tracking
  • Partner with Rippling (ASO) and external advisors for payroll, benefits, and compliance

Growth Opportunities

  • Build forecasting, budgeting, and scenario models
  • Provide insights to support EBITDA expansion, margins, and pricing strategies
  • Contribute to investor-ready reporting packages and board presentations
  • Take on leadership of finance team members as the company scales
  • Long-term path into a VP Finance / CFO seat for the right candidate
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA / CMA strongly preferred)
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS in Finance / Accounting) a plus
  • Experience working in EOS or similar operating systems strongly preferred
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience, ideally in a high-growth or services business
  • Proven track record with month-end close and financial packages
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash flow, and financial controls
  • Raleigh-based candidates strongly preferred
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range : $110K–$120K (with potential for bonus)
  • Performance bonus tied to accuracy, timeliness, and EBITDA results
