Job Title :  Estimator II

Location :  Pascagoula, MS

Job Overview :  An Estimator II analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material and labor estimates for products, projects or services.

Key Responsibilities :

Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.

• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, scheduling vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepares accurate estimates and reports and maintains a source of data file.
• Gathers cost and technical quotations from vendors, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Ensures supplier’s scope of supply coincides with contract or project requirements.
• Maintains job estimate history files.
• Updates history files as required for use in preparing future project estimates.
• Prepares letters, memos, faxes and / or e-mails to suppliers to seek requests for information.
• Works overtime as required to complete estimates in a timely fashion.
• Prepares material and labor cost estimates from information provided or historical experience.
• Contacts and gathers technical and cost information from vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and other sources.
