Position Summary

The Executive Director of Finance Systems and Operations is a strategic leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide finance transformation initiatives, with a primary focus on SAP S / 4HANA enablement and business continuity. This role oversees the execution of complex programs including ERP modernization, M&A integrations, and cross-functional process redesign, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include leading the SAP ledger migration for a major business unit, transitioning from legacy systems to SAP. The Executive Director directs cross-functional workstreams and external vendors, manages program delivery, and ensures seamless coordination across Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and other business segments. This role is accountable for risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, and executive communications, ensuring a smooth transition from implementation to business-as-usual operations. This role will also have responsibility for oversight and leadership of ongoing business as usual support team.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Drive the vision and roadmap for SAP-enabled finance transformation across the enterprise.
  • Lead Finance Transformation initiatives, overseeing a cross-functional team of delivery leads and analysts, and potential for third party consulting.
  • Establish governance frameworks and operating cadences to ensure alignment and accountability across all transformation workstreams
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership and stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other business units as needed
  • Partner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.

Transformation Program Execution

  • Lead the SAP ledger migration program transitioning from legacy systems to SAP S / 4HANA.
  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-year transformation initiatives, including ERP integrations and finance process optimization and enhancements
  • Manage M&A finance integration efforts, ensuring alignment of systems, processes, and reporting structures across acquired entities
  • Drive standardization and automation of finance processes to enable scalability and efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Change Management & Business Readiness

  • Partner with key teams to develop and execute change management strategies to support adoption of new tools, processes, and organizational models
  • Ensure business readiness through stakeholder engagement, training, and communication planning.
  • Drive smooth transitions from implementation to business-as-usual operations
  • Executive Reporting & Communication

  • Deliver presentations, executive briefings, and strategic updates to Finance Leadership and program Steering Committees
  • Translate complex program data into actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Finance Transformation, with deep expertise in SAP S / 4HANA and ERP systems.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programs, including M&A integrations and finance modernization.
  • Strong understanding of finance operations, reporting, and controls in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills.
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previously consulting experience preferred
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Top-tier consulting strongly preferred; proven multi-year enterprise delivery.
  • Education

    Bachelor's in STEM or Business

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is :

    $131,500.00 - $303,195.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
