They assist in managing patient care throughout the hospital stay to support quality outcomes and timely discharge. Using the nursing process— assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation —the Graduate Nurse : Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals Delegates appropriate tasks to Patient Care Assistants and Universal Support Assistants Provides select physical care within the scope of professional nursing, based on patient acuity and care needs Documents and communicates patient responses, resource use, and anticipated needs during each shift All direct patient care must be delivered with competencies appropriate to the population served . Requirements Before You Start Education : Associate’s Degree, Nursing Diploma, or BS / BSN from an accredited Nursing Program. Proof of Graduation : Submit either : An official transcript showing program completion, OR A letter from your Nursing Program Director stating you’re eligible to take the NCLEX. RN Licensure Timeline You must pass the NCLEX and obtain RN licensure within 8 weeks of graduation. Upon passing, you will transition from Graduate Nurse (GN) to Registered Nurse (RN).
