Summary :

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities :

Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating. Assists with keeping patient rooms and areas stocked, clean and orderly.Assists with transporting patients, as needed.Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements.Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Certification Requirements :

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)

Additional Job Information :

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience : Minimum of one (1) year patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care.Other Information :

• EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.
