The Post-Production Apprentice position exists to learn and develop the ability to post-produce original episodes for Adventures in Odyssey audio dramas.

Responsibilities

• Becomes immersed in the world of Adventures in Odyssey, learning the show’s history, characters, locations, and devices
• Assists in post-producing Adventures in Odyssey episodes
• Revises post-produced episodes as directed
• May attend recording sessions for the purpose of learning and facilitating the recording of episodes when requested by Executive Producer or Post-Production Director
• Learns complete post process, from recording through mastering
• Reads scripts and learns how to provide helpful input
• Assists other engineers as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Character / Spiritual :

Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28 : 19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer

Prays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer

Knowledge / Experience :

Bachelor's Degree in Audio and / or Film Production with an emphasis in audio, or Communications Preferred

1 - 3 years of experience in audio post-production

Thorough knowledge of the Bible and Christian worldview

Working knowledge of Adventures in Odyssey, FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives

Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents / Gifts :

Advanced post-production skills; ability to produce to various styles and genres

Ability to both think and produce creatively

Ability to clearly articulate and to defend a position

Ability to deal with stress due to deadline pressure

Basic organizational skills

Ability to apply imaginative approaches to others’ ideas

Competent in use of Pro Tools as well as plug-ins and outboard gear

Competent as a recording engineer in communicating production needs during session and running recording studio equipment

Ability to work primarily alone

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range : $18.00 to $21.00 / hr
