Mechanical Systems Design Engineer - Refrigeration

Seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer specializing in Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical Systems for a growing Design‐Build Mechanical Contracting firm in Fort Wayne, IN. Ideal candidates will have a strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, communicate with customers, design/provide ideal solution, and assemble detailed budget/estimate. Customers are in the Food Processing and Cold Storage Industry. NOT A SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY. Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Tasks:

• Collaborate with the customers to create detailed design plans and specifications for refrigeration & mechanical systems
• Use our estimating software to provide customers with budgets and detailed estimates
• Conduct research and analysis to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for refrigeration & mechanical projects
• Evaluate existing systems and propose improvements to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability
• Develop 2D and 3D design layouts using CAD software
• Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the performance and reliability of refrigeration & mechanical systems
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that design requirements are met
• Hire subcontractors and order equipment for sold projects
• Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and commissioning of refrigeration & mechanical systems
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in refrigeration technology

Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Profile Musts:

• MUST HAVE INDUSTRIAL AMMONIA REFRIGERATION EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and other engineering tools
• Solid experience assembling detailed budget/estimate
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Knowledge of refrigeration codes, standards, and regulations
• Eagerness to collaborate in a team environment to continually create, maintain, and improve program libraries
• Understanding of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Clean driving record
