Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg-Orthopedics night shift position requiring strong ortho and total joint replacement experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 22-bed Med / Surg-Orthopedics unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • Patient population includes orthopedic cases focused on joints, replacements, and fractures
  • Typical patient ratios are 1 : 5-6
  • Night shifts from 7 : 00 p.m. to 7 : 30 a.m., including weekends and assigned holidays
  • Unit uses Epic EMR for charting
  • Possible floating to other units including 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E
  • Three CNAs support each shift, and a charge nurse is present 24 / 7
  • Responsibilities include caring for orthopedic patients with a variety of joint, replacement, and fracture needs
  • RNs are not required to read telemetry strips or titrate drips
  • Royal blue scrubs are required as the unit dress code
  • Travelers are expected to participate in the holiday rotation and may work every other weekend or two weekend shifts per schedule
  • Unit-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Returning RNs are eligible if they have not worked at any WVU Medicine location in the past 2 years and have not exceeded 1 year cumulative travel experience within WVU

  • Active WV or compact state RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
  • Current BLS certification is required
  • Must have strong orthopedic experience, including total joint replacement care
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred
  • Driver’s license address must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is obtained
