Position Title : Interventional Radiology Radiology / Cardiology
The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic procedures and activities to create detailed diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The Radiology Technologist collaborates with members of the radiology and health care team to promote total patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs all radiologic procedures which are offered by the department, following exam protocols on neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patientsCompletes paperwork and computer related dutiesAnalyzes scans, interprets results, and discusses results with patientsAssists radiologists, staff physicians, nursing, and hospital personnel with radiological servicesMaintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staffChecks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular daily basis and per facility protocolKeeps supplies current, clean and replenishedProcesses film, evaluates for technical quality and ensures accurate patient identification and side labelingGreets patients, verifies patient identification and physician ordersObtains, correlates and documents clinical history prior to the start of examinationTransports patients and informs nursing units of patients’ departure and arrivalHolds medical and other sensitive information in confidenceKnowledge of radiation safety measures and protection to comply with government regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned / necessaryMinimum Requirements :
High School diploma or its equivalent certificationCertificate, Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Technology if required by state / contractCurrent ARRT license preferredState specific licensure if required by state / contractOne-year relevant experience as a radiology technologist preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageAdditional Details : Technologist must be proficient at supporting Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures utilizing single and biplane Siemens radiography units. Wednesday-Saturday. Call requirements will be 1 weekend per month and 1 - 2 days per week. Trauma 1 and Stroke Center. Outpatient and inpatient procedures adults geriatrics and peds.
