Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician for a 13 week travel assignment in Springfield, Colorado. \n\n Required Qualifications : \n\n \n\t
- One year of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician\n\t
- Valid license when needed in compliance with any state regulations\n
\n\n Preferred Qualifications : \n\n \n\t
National certification through ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certifications\n\tCurrent BLS certification (AHA / ARC)\n\tOther certifications or licenses may be required for this position\n\n\n Summary : \n\n
The Medical Laboratory Technician assists in performing routine and moderately complex laboratory tests across multiple diagnostic areas, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and toxicology. This role involves analyzing body fluids and specimens, ensuring the accuracy of test results, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
\n\n Essential Work Functions : \n\n \n\t
Perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, hematology, and immunology\n\tPrepare and process specimens for analysis, ensuring accurate labeling and handling\n\tEnsure accuracy and reliability of test results by following quality control protocols\n\tFollow standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA)\n\tSupport the investigation of transfusion reactions by collecting and preparing necessary samples\n\tOperate and maintain laboratory instruments, performing troubleshooting within scope\n\tTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as needed\n\tCommunicate test results clearly and professionally to other healthcare professionals\n\tFollow laboratory safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and hospital procedures\n\tMaintain detailed and accurate records of test results, calibrations, and quality control measures\n\tAssist with inventory management, reagent preparation, and stocking lab supplies\n\tPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice\n\tAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards\n\n\n Required Essential Skills : \n\n \n\t
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills\n\tThe ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required\n\tAbility to read / comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills\n\tPhysical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending\n\tInterpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism\n\tTechnical / Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing / pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and / or using department equipment.\n\tMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail\n\tSensory - Visual acuity, ability to effectively communicate.\n\n\n
