Scala Engineer

A company is looking for a Scala Engineer I to support a major telecommunications client in a remote contract role.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing workflows using Scala and Spark

Support the development and operation of streaming data pipelines leveraging Kafka, Kinesis, and other real-time data tools

Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing data pipeline performance and reliability

Required Qualifications

1-3 years of software engineering experience or equivalent academic / project work

Strong programming skills in Scala with familiarity in functional programming principles

Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for batch or streaming data processing

Exposure to Kafka, Kinesis, or similar streaming platforms

Solid understanding of SQL for data exploration and analysis
