As a Project Architect, you will play a key role in the design and technical development of projects. This role manages a variety of projects and teams, including client contact, scheduling, and budgeting.
You will bring your expertise in design to all stages of the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to construction, ensuring that every detail aligns with the latest industry trends, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Management responsibilities
- Supervise the work of other Project Architects / Designers to provide cohesive client service across multiple projects.
- Coordinate consultant services and assist with consultant contracts.
- Work with the firm directors to negotiate fees and owner contracts.
- Assist the marketing department in development of proposals and evaluation of Requests for Qualifications as required.
- Communicate current and prospective project timelines and budgets via office software for forecasting and planning.
- Participate in employee performance reviews.
Project related responsibilities
Develop project design, defining overall project aesthetic, and developing project objectives, descriptions, and budgets.Maintain knowledge of client's goals and vision.Maintain client relations throughout project keeping the client apprised of project progress on a regular basis.Oversee and maintain the project design intent during SD, DD, CD, Bidding & CA phases.Incorporate sustainable design elements in project. Understand LEED and incorporate it into the scope if desired by the client.Plan, organize and manage project teams and facilitate coordination between disciplines.Ensure all work complies with project-specific standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations, coordinate communication and submittals to AHJs as required.Assist in development of project specifications.Manage the bid process, including assisting the owner with contractor selection.Attend preconstruction / construction meetings with the Field Representative as required.Assist in processing design-related construction phase documentation, reviewing shop drawings and punch lists.Monitor and verify project hours.Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture RequiredProfessional Architect licensure in WI required, IL preferred (LEED AP, AIA, or equivalent preferred).Minimum of 7+ years of experience in architectural designStrong proficiency with architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp; experience with 3D modeling and BIM is preferred.Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex, multi-phase projects.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on innovative and sustainable design solutions.Ideal Candidates Will Have Demonstrated
