Sygnetics is seeking three (3) Clinical Psychologist candidates to support the DoD contract at Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA and outlying facilities. The successful candidate will possess the required education, skills, and experience called for in the contract as described below.
LOCATIONS :
- Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), Internal Medicine.
- Naval Branch Health Clinics (NBHC) Multiple Sites (Coronado, Chula Vista, Point Loma).
QUALIFICATIONS :
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from an APA-accredited institution.Completion of APA-accredited internship in psychology OR 1 year fellowship / residency in health psychology / behavioral medicine.1-year relevant experience within the past 4 years.Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any U.S. state, D.C., Guam, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.U.S CitizenNACI background checkRESPONSIBILITIES :
Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.Assist in rehabilitation of patients.Deliver brief, consultation based services to patients and PCMs using an integrated care model. Services provided are standard and mimic the structure, function, and pace of primary care (i.e., psychotherapy or other specialty care psychological assessments are inappropriate and therefore prohibited). The PCM is ultimately responsible for the patient's health care plan and makes the determination on how the HCW's recommendations might be integrated into the PCM's plan for the patient.Provide timely and succinct feedback to primary care physicians regarding consultations findings and recommendations.Determine the appropriateness of the patient receiving services in the primary care setting and assisting with implementation of treatment plans.Formulate behavioral health interventions appropriate to primary care setting and assisting with implementation of treatment plans.Provide brief follow ups, including relapse prevention education.Develop, teach, and provide oversight for classes that promote education and skill-building to enhance psychological and physical health.Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient s medical record in no less than 24 hours after the patient is seen.Participate in group medical appointments including Shared Medical Appointments (SMA) and Drop-in Group Medical Appointments (DIGMA) as requested by the PCM.Provide technical direction and clinical insight into relevant projects being conducted at the site of service.This job description is not intended to be all inclusive. Pay Rate : $159,000 per year.Depending on experience and qualifications
