Summary GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking an IT Operations Technician I – Asset Management who is responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining all IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including hardware, software, and related equipment, in an o n-site environment.
This role ensures accurate inventory records, supports deployment and decommissioning of assets, and collaborates with IT and procurement teams to optimize asset utilization and compliance with organizational policies.

Track and manage IT assets, including laptops, desktops, servers, peripherals, and software licenses.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with internal policies, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Support deployment, relocation, and decommissioning of IT equipment across multiple sites.
Collaborate with procurement and IT teams to coordinate asset acquisition, tagging, configuration, and disposal.
Perform periodic audits to verify asset integrity, reconcile discrepancies, and update records accordingly.
Assist in maintaining software license compliance, including renewals, tracking usage, and reporting.
Provide support for IT asset requests, troubleshoot basic hardware issues, and escalate complex problems to the IT support team.
Generate detailed reports on asset status, lifecycle, and utilization trends for management review.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for asset management processes.
Ensure secure handling of sensitive IT equipment and data during deployment, relocation, or disposal.
Assist in budget tracking related to IT asset procurement, replacement, and maintenance.
Support IT projects by providing asset tracking, staging, and configuration assistance as needed.
Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for process improvements in asset management.

Basic Qualifications Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 0-2 years of experience with asset management tools Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and networking concepts.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with IT procurement processes and lifecycle management.
Knowledge of IT security and compliance standards.
Previous experience in a government or large enterprise IT environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce accurate reports.
Work authorization / security clearance requirements Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Work environment This work is typically completed in at the client’s site in Silver Spring, MD Physical demands Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
