Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating, and updating patient information. This role requires flexibility to float between various locations including Manasquan, Woodbridge, Essex County, and Ocean County.

Responsibilities

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and / or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and proper protocol.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Work Environment

This position involves floating between various locations within a 30-50 mile radius, including Manasquan, Woodbridge, Essex County, and Ocean County. Mileage reimbursement is provided for tolls and parking. The role offers the opportunity to work in smaller office settings or patient service centers (PSCs), providing exposure to diverse environments within a larger company. Interviews are available next week, both virtually and on-site, between 10am-5pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Jersey City, New Jersey

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 / hr.
