Data Management Analyst Data Solutions & Services - Data Operating Model About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented
Data Management Analyst to support initiatives within the Data Solutions and Services Data Operating Model group. This role functionally reports to the
Data Quality Issue Management Lead and plays a key role in overseeing data quality issue management, governance operations, and workflow tool support within a highly regulated environment.
The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working under tight deadlines while partnering with business, data, and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities - Review auto-generated and self-identified data quality issues submitted by lines of business, including:
- Understanding problem statements and root causes
- Performing data sanity checks
- Assessing downstream impact and risk
- Coordinate and lead discussions with subject matter experts (SMEs) to evaluate and remediate high-severity data issues
- Provide governance and oversight of data quality issues within issue management workflow tools, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive timely remediation of data issues
- Perform operational activities to ensure data governance metrics and reporting are current and accurate
- Review and validate change requests submitted by lines of business, ensuring content accuracy and completeness
- Perform due diligence data sanity checks on workflow tool submissions
- Prepare PowerPoint materials for data governance forums and working groups
- Document meeting minutes, action items, and assigned ownership
- Assist with gathering, defining, and documenting business requirements for workflow tool enhancements
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for issue management and data governance tools
- Maintain team documentation across SharePoint, shared drives, and Confluence
- Deliver user training on data issue management processes and workflow tools
- Support ad-hoc initiatives and projects as required
- Effectively manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Required Skills & Qualifications - Strong accountability and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strong organizational, business analysis, and data analysis skills
- Ability to work effectively in culturally diverse environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Visio)
- Bachelor's degree required
- Academic training or background in accounting, statistics, data engineering, data science, or computer science preferred
Preferred Experience & Technical Skills - Knowledge of data governance concepts, including:
- Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
- Physical Data Elements (PDEs)
- Data quality rules and dimensions
- Experience collaborating with SMEs to develop and implement data quality controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience creating data profiles to evaluate data quality requirements
- Basic SQL querying experience
- Issue and incident management experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Exposure to AI tools or data automation concepts
- Hands-on experience with tools such as:
- Collibra
- IDQ/CDQ tools
- ServiceNow
- Jira
- Confluence
- SharePoint
- Data issue management and remediation workflow tools
- Experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
- Banking or financial services experience preferred
