About The Position
Job Title : Histology Technologist
Profession : Laboratory

Shift : Day, Monday to Friday
Hours per Shift : 8 hours (06 : 00 - 14 : 30)
Experience : 3-5 years full-time experience required, embedding and microtomy skills
License : Must have appropriate state licensure
Certifications : BLS, HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification
Must-Have : Bachelor’s degree in histotechnology, biology, or related scientific discipline preferred
Description :
This position involves performing routine and complex histologic procedures.
Responsibilities include processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry.
Quality control on completed slides is required.
Identifying problems that may affect diagnosis and results is essential.
Observations from tests must be accurately recorded.
Maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab must be documented.
Complying with established laboratory policies and procedures is mandatory.
Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
Candidates must ensure they do not confirm a new or extended assignment during the hurricane season due to potential emergency duty.
