We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our compassionate team at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents. This role is vital in supporting our mission by assisting young patients in developing essential skills for daily living, thereby promoting their overall well-being.
- Responsibilities :
- Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance their independence.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the occupational therapist.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment modifications.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance within the therapeutic setting.
- Qualifications :
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience working with pediatric populations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of assisting with ADLs and patient care practices.
- Familiarity with care plans and occupational health principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate approach towards children with complex medical needs.
