Annual Salary : $130k – $185k (varies depending on years of experience)
We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Palliative Care Physician to join a forward-thinking healthcare organization dedicated to transforming the experience of serious illness. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to help patients manage complex symptoms, navigate care transitions, and make informed decisions about their goals and preferences. What You’ll Do
- Deliver comprehensive palliative and supportive care to patients living with advanced or life-limiting illnesses.
- Conduct detailed medical assessments and create individualized treatment and care plans tailored to each patient’s physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, social workers, and other clinicians to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
- Facilitate open, compassionate conversations around goals of care, prognosis, and end-of-life planning.
- Prescribe and adjust medications for pain and symptom management while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Support family members and caregivers through education, communication, and ongoing emotional guidance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for patient needs, emergencies, and coordination of services.
- Use technology-based tools and documentation systems to manage patient information efficiently and ensure high-quality, compliant recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve clinical protocols, optimize workflows, and support performance initiatives related to patient outcomes and quality metrics.
Qualifications
MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics.Active or eligible New Jersey medical license.Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in palliative care, hospice medicine, or complex chronic disease management.Demonstrated ability to deliver home-based care and manage complex medical and psychosocial cases.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage patients and families in sensitive, values-based discussions.Comfort working with technology, including electronic medical records and mobile devices for documentation.Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally competent care.Atlas Search is a tri-state area recruitment agency, connecting new graduates, Advanced Practice Providers, Physicians and Nurse Leaders to hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty groups, nursing homes, managed care companies, private practices, and healthcare start-ups.
