The iconicHotel del Coronado is looking for a Valet Runner to join the team at Hotel del Coronado, A Curio Collection by Hilton.

Located on Coronado Island, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining. After a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.

Classification : Full-Time | Schedule : Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Pay rate : $16.50 per hour, based on applicable and specialized experience and location. This position is part of the Local 30 Union, which requires open availability; hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle using safe driving practices to ensure safe delivery of vehicle to and from the parking garage.
• Tickets vehicle, recording guest name, room number, car license, make / model, amount of charge, and length of stay on the ticket. Maintains neat, accurate logs of keys and completes required valet parking logs and reports. Retrieves information on guest vehicles and claim checks using the Valet desk computer system as needed.
• Greets and thanks guests in proper English with a clear, pleasant voice. Responds to inquiries with accurate directions to local attractions, car rentals, meeting rooms, etc., according to individual needs. Assists guests with taxi services, wheelchair requests, parking options, etc.
• Answers the Valet phone promptly using positive and clear English; verbally arranges and confirms parking valet requests from guests and coordinates bell desk services. Responds accurately to general inquiries regarding hotel services and attractions.
• Assists Door Attendant in opening car doors and unloading / loading of luggage to ensure smooth traffic flow in the valet area; issues claim checks and tags bags as needed. Assists guests with check-in procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of the guest vehicle and returns the vehicle as the guest left it.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, such as assisting as Bell Help, Laundry Valet, Messenger or Door Attendant when necessary.
• Must know how to drive stick shift (manual transmission) vehicles.
