Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant will work under Dr. Maheshwari's guidance within the Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease, managing all aspects of patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and education. This role includes independently running outpatient clinics and requires willingness to travel to off-site locations.
- Provide comprehensive care to inpatient GI patients, including assessment, management, and follow-up
- Collaborate with attending physicians to evaluate and manage urgent cases, including coordinating with endoscopy services
- Respond to consults from other hospital services
- Assist in coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams within the GI program
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed
Requirements
Must possess Physician Assistant degree from an accredited school.Inpatient experience or GI Experience a plusTwo years of experience as a practicing PA preferredMust possess a State of Maryland PA License, in good standingCertification Requirements - CPRMust possess skills in the use of various computers and software programs and be computer literateMust be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable mannerMust be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general publicMust be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employeesMust be able to follow written and oral instructionsBenefits
