Job Overview

At Agate, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing therapeutic services to individuals and groups, particularly focusing on children and families. This role requires expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy, to support clients in managing their mental health challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address a variety of mental health issues.
  • Utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and dialectical behavior therapy techniques to assist clients in developing coping strategies.
  • Provide behavior management support for clients with behavioral health concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes using ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
  • Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating measurable goals, objectives, and culturally responsive interventions.
  • Complete progress notes, treatment plan reviews, discharge summaries, and any other required documentation within specified timeframes.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and / or adults based on the assigned caseload.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, PRP staff, case managers, medical professionals, , community partners, and schools to ensure continuity of care.
  • Offer specialized care for children experiencing PTSD and other trauma-related issues.
  • Engage with families to provide counseling that supports the overall well-being of the child.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, and case consultations.

Requirements

  • The following credentials are required for this position :   LGPC, LCPC.
  • Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and medical terminology relevant to mental health care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and collaboration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of mental health therapy.
