Security Officer

Security Officer position at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Various shifts including weekends on different days of the week.

Responsibilities include providing security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors, performing proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential / actual security threats, investigating, documenting, and managing security incidents and hazards, maintaining knowledge of policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans, facilitating planned drills and simulations, training and mentoring staff on environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures, providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety, providing traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participating in foot and vehicle patrols, reporting potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel, and operating a vehicle in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Requirements include a driver's license obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted), and a high school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience. Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
