Description :

Guaranteed hours of 36 per week.

Primary location will be in Virginia Beach, with required flexibility to work at other urgent care locations if needed.

Position includes three shifts per week, with every other weekend required.

Hours will be from 9 : 30 AM until the last patient is discharged, usually between 8 PM and 10 PM.

If the assignment period goes through the end of November, the candidate will be requested to work on Thanksgiving, with adjustable hours for that day.

Candidate must have pediatric experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting.

Similar experience may also be reviewed to determine if the candidate's skill set meets position needs.

The unit features 8 beds and a procedure room.

Common diagnoses and procedures include asthma exacerbation, injuries, viral illnesses, strep, urinary tract infections, and fevers.

Special procedures include splints, ear flushes, eye flushes, straight catheterization, IV placement, and EKGs.

Nurse-patient ratio allows for the attendance of 60 to 130 patients a day, depending on location and season.

Floating to other centers may be required only under special circumstances.

Patient care delivery is primarily based on a primary nursing model but is hybrid in nature.

Computerized charting is utilized.

Candidates must possess required certifications for the position.

Orientation period will be 2-3 weeks.
