Job description

The inventory coordinator is an expert in their field of material allocation, receiving, FIFO compliance, Lot controls, cycle counting, and physical inventory. Accountable for receiving and issuing processes of an organization’s raw materials, supplies, and consumables. The main duties include controlling the flow of inventory, tracking, and analyzing inventory discrepancies with corrective actions. Responsible for accurate record keeping of live inventory at multiple locations. Communicating with location managers to maintain required inventory usage will be key to success.

  • Allocate raw material usage based on Material Usage tags submitted by facilities
  • Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages in collaboration with procurement
  • Review BOMs and analyze differences in material allocation
  • Create detailed reports for allocation discrepancies
  • Lead process for regular cycle counting including making adjustments as needed
  • Ensure materials and supplies orders avoid excessive surplus in collaboration with procurement
  • Deliver timely communication for missing inventory usage to leadership
  • Work with cross-divisional teams to build consensus on objectives and operational plans
  • Ensure inventory is audit compliant
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures
  • Up to 25% travel will may be required
  • This role may be required to assist with other duties as assigned as well as in other functions of the operation.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Inventory management experience required
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with 1+ ERP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Knowledge of other key manufacturing departments including but not limited to customer service, logistics, operations, and / or procurement.
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience or understanding of P&L impacts from inventory transactions
