• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contractDepartment : Stepdown RN
• Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• PRESCREENAUTO OFFER - of Beds : 22- Ratios : 1 : 04- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- does take a full patient assignment- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 10- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : CPAP- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : RNs must read and interpret strips- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0630-1900, 1830-0700 / / cyclic scheduling- Weekend Requirements : Everyother- Holiday Requirements : 1 major, 1 minor- Floating Requirements : Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 1- 12 hour shift in the department- Additional Notes : Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges.
