We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Houston, Texas, on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will manage payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations and company policies. You will also collaborate with various departments to address payroll inquiries and maintain high standards for internal controls.
Responsibilities :
- Process payroll for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and the Workday support team to streamline compensation processes.
- Partner with the payroll tax service provider to address filings and resolve tax-related issues.
- Prepare payroll entries for accounting records and ensure they align with company policies.
- Maintain and execute internal controls to support audits and compliance efforts.
- Assist with documenting internal payroll processes for improved efficiency.
- Participate in quarterly audits and provide requested documentation to auditors.
- Generate ad hoc reports, schedules, and analyses as needed.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and deductions, offering clear resolutions.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll processing, including rotational schedules and overtime calculations.
- Proficiency in Workday payroll systems is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to convey information to diverse audiences.
- Advanced analytical abilities to resolve discrepancies and perform reconciliations.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in handling sensitive data.
