BLS, NIHSS Required.

Description :

First Time Travelers Accepted

Skillset Requirements : Minimum 2 Year Required and IV Starts. Will take MS / Tele, PCU level experience.

Floating Requirements : Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals

Staffing Ratios : 1 : 5-6

Unit Information : Neurosurgical / Neuroscience Med / Surgical / step down unit 40% of patients come from the Neuro Critical Care after an acute event and about 30% go to Rehab facilities upon discharge. Age ranges from 15-100+. Wide variety of Neuro trauma, MVA, stroke, seizure, brain and spinal cord injuries and insults along with Crani's for tumors, laminectomies, shunts for hydrocephalus. Early mobility and rehab a significant focus work daily with therapies.
