YOUR FUTURE TEAM
As part of TCEQ’s Office of Air, you would contribute to protecting and restoring Texas’ air quality. .
This position is a member of our Air Monitoring Division.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Assist with the calibration and maintenance of network calibration and measurement transfer standards.
Assist with preparing, planning, performing, documenting, and reporting field instrument audits.
Assist with the purchase and maintenance of laboratory and sampling equipment and supplies; maintain equipment and parts.
Assist in responding to internal and external customer inquiries; provide general information regarding Calibration Laboratory activities; review standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), and other guidance / procedural documentation.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience performing instrument calibrations, verifications, or performance checks in a laboratory or field environment.
Experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting technical or analytical instruments; especially instruments used for air monitoring.
Experience performing technical work in field settings, such as equipment audits, sampling, site visits, or other outdoor data collection activities.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree with a major in engineering, basic science, math, environmental science, or related fields, from an accredited college or university.
One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental control activities may substitute for each year of the required education.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Austin Air Monitoring Division.
