  • This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
  • This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii within The Directorate of Nursing (Progressive Care Unit).

    Also known as the big pink building on the hill, Tripler is a 450-bed, Level II Trauma facility and participates in unique partnerships with civilian facilities to provide care to non-beneficiary trauma victims.

    Responsibilities

    MAJOR DUTIES :

  • Administer oxygen, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and prescribed medications.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, etc.
  • Manage nasal, pharyngeal, and gastric suction as well as drainage tubes.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
  • Independently determine and implement proper emergency measures for life-threatening conditions.
  • Observe, monitor, and assess patients condition.
  • Develop and revise nursing care plans accordingly.
  • Develop meaningful goals to assist critically ill patients and families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and / or experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer work, and service programs. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; transcripts are required if qualifying through education.

    Basic Requirement For Nurse (Clinical / Critical Care)

  • Degree : A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's, associate, or diploma from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure : A current, active, unrestricted nursing license from a U.S. state or territory and passing the NCLEX exam.
  • Foreign Degree : Certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools if applicable.
  • Exemption : Current federal employees in the 0610 series with continuous employment since September 27, 2017, may be exempt.
  • Additional Qualification Requirements

  • At least one year of professional nursing experience providing care to critically ill patients, monitoring specialized equipment, and patient education.
  • Or a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Foreign Education
