• Must be able to interpret cardiac rhythms

Description :

Position available in a Progressive Care Unit.

The shift is three days a week from 07 : 00 to 19 : 30.

There is no call requirement for this position.

Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Holiday coverage involves working one holiday per contract.

Floating to other stepdown or medical units may be necessary.

Travelers can call off two times per assignment without penalty.

If a traveler calls off a third time, the unit manager will determine the next steps.

Candidates need a minimum of one year of nursing experience in a similar unit.

First-time travelers are accepted.

Active ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must be from outside a 50-mile radius.

Pending licenses are accepted provided the license is active by the start date.

Must have experience with various cardiac medications and infusions such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and Cardizem.

The unit cares for high-acuity patients and post-cardiothoracic surgery patients.

Experience with telemetry and managing cardiac drips, including non-titration, is essential.

Knowledge of protocols for central line care and blood product administration is expected.

The daily census averages 28 patients in a 30-bed unit.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various therapeutic teams.

Complete up to 8 hours of required modules before starting.

Professional conduct is taken very seriously, and issues may result in contract termination.
