Job description

HealthTrust Workforce Solutions Regional is seeking a local contract nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a local contract nursing job in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty : OR - Operating Room
  • Discipline : RN
  • Duration : 13 weeks
  • 40 hours per week
  • Shift : 8 hours
  • Employment Type : Local Contract
  • Number of Beds – 8 Operating Rooms and 23 Pre-op / PACU Bays
  • Shift for the Traveler Monday thru Friday between 0645 – 1730 hours
  • Type of staff :

Days : 1RN and 1 Surgical Technician per room with relief team for breaks and lunches

  • Nights : 1-2 assigned late crews for cases going past 1530 hours
  • Type of equipment – all equipment associated with out-patient day surgery
  • EMR – We do not use an EMR
  • Typical Procedures : Standard Out-patient surgeries such as Orthopedic, Plastics, eyes, ENT, General, Urology, Pain, Podiatry
  • Floating : We are affiliated with three out-patient surgery centers within a few miles of each other and there might be a need in the other ASCs as well.

    • Must Haves :

  • An ASN degree minimum, BSN preferred
  • Knowledge of different surgical specialties
  • Experience as a circulating Nurse with at least 1 year of OR experience
  • AK RN License
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications

    • Preferred or Nice to Have :

  • Ability to scrub on certain cases
  • Able to provide conscious sedation or a willingness to learn
  • MediTech Experience
  • Travel Experience
