Assistant Chief Engineer

Job Description

WRGB / WCWN has an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Assistant Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Supervise maintenance and repair of cameras, video production switchers, audio equipment, video routers, automation / editing systems, video server systems, graphic systems, monitors and display systems, receivers, transmitters.
• Provide additional support and resource subject matter expertise in the absence of the Chief Engineer to all staff including leadership and location personnel
• PC hardware / software support of on-site installation, service, troubleshooting, and repairing of workstations
• Replace or adjust defective and / or improperly functioning equipment
• Manage news and engineering vehicle fleet
• Manage building maintenance and scheduling of maintenance
• Cyber Security administration support for servers and network services
• LAN and WAN related hardware and software maintenance
• Knowledge of facility specific IT needs and assist in supporting these systems
• Provide support for the technical needs of the News Department
• Provide first response support as needed to maintain live news broadcasts
• Responds to trouble calls with broadcast or computer equipment
• Assist with video equipment set-up and maintenance
• Provide transmitter maintenance and support
• Perform physical inventory of equipment
• Other duties as may be assigned

Other Qualifications and Requirements :

Physical Demands / Work Environment :

The base salary compensation range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
