Role Type : VP / Senior Technical Leadership

Location : Hybrid in Houston, TX preferred. Alternatively based in NC, CA, or NJ.

About the Role

Oliver James is partnered with an firm who is hiring for a Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the transformation of their digital products. In this role, your job is to lead the definition, design, and delivery of a large-scale Digital Servicing Platform that supports multiple customer channels - including web, mobile, agent / advisor tools, contact center, and APIs.

This platform will leverage Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, and Agentforce , among other technologies, to create a best-in-class digital experience that empowers employees, advisors, and customers alike.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Define and maintain the end-to-end Salesforce architecture across Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud, and related components.

Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards for security, integration, and data governance.

Architect and guide implementation of complex workflows for policy servicing, claims management, and digital engagement.

Leadership & Collaboration

Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

Serve as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders on Salesforce best practices and strategic roadmaps.

Mentor and guide Salesforce developers, admins, and consultants to elevate overall technical capability.

Delivery & Innovation

Oversee full lifecycle Salesforce programs, ensuring quality, scalability, and adoption.

Drive innovation through the use of Data Cloud for unified customer insights and Agentforce for intelligent automation.

Stay ahead of Salesforce releases and ecosystem advancements to continuously enhance the platform.

Core Competencies

Industry Knowledge : Understanding of financial services, insurance, or similar regulated industries.

Technical Depth : Strong software engineering mindset with expertise in APIs, microservices, messaging systems, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Strategic Thinking : Ability to align technology decisions with enterprise strategy and business outcomes.

Collaboration : Proven experience building effective partnerships across business and technology teams.

Leadership : Track record of developing and retaining top technical talent.

Analytical Mindset : Skilled in solving complex problems using data, logic, and critical thinking.

Adaptability : Embraces diverse perspectives and applies a continuous learning mindset.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in Salesforce architecture or senior technical leadership.

Proven enterprise experience with Financial Services Cloud and Experience Cloud

Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, security, and integrations (MuleSoft, Data Cloud, APIs).

Hands-on experience delivering Salesforce implementations at scale in complex business environments.

Salesforce certifications such as CTA Application Architect , or System Architect strongly preferred.

Exposure to Data Cloud and Agentforce a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
