Safety Manager

Safety Specialist

This role involves ensuring adherence to the project's safety guidelines, coordinating with safety leads, and ensuring all personnel have completed required safety training. The Safety Specialist will engage with crews on-site, monitor safety practices, and participate in safety meetings. Responsibilities include :

• Ensuring compliance with project-specific safety plans and client safety requirements.
• Coordinating with the regional safety lead for safety signage and PPE availability.
• Confirming completion of safety orientation training for all on-site personnel.
• Gathering and organizing documentation from subcontractors and trade partners, including Job Hazard Analyses, Safety Data Sheets, and High-Risk Activity Plans.
• Conducting daily safety audits using a digital platform and sharing findings with the project team.
• Submitting a minimum of two Safety Observation Reports per week.
• Spending 6070% of time in the field engaging with crews and monitoring safety practices.
• Attending and contributing to various meetings, including daily huddles and coordination meetings.
• Leading or supporting weekly all-hands safety meetings.
• Reviewing and tracking safety documentation and spot-checking during site visits.
• Notifying the project team and safety lead of incidents or near-misses and assisting in investigations.
• Conducting site-specific safety orientations for trade partners.
• Maintaining communication with subcontractor safety representatives and participating in planning meetings for high-risk activities.
• Maintaining clear communication with the project team and safety leadership, and addressing safety concerns proactively.
